About

This quaint place is known for ancient temples, forts and has a rich, diverse history and culture. Gerusoppa is also one of Karnataka’s Lion tailed Macaque conservation centres. This whole area holds a lot of enthralling mysteries that awaits exploration. Honnavar, which is close to Gerusoppa flaunts some lovely beaches, waterfalls, and highlights Olive Ridley Turtle Conservation and Mangrove conservation zone as a part of its eco-responsibility.

Sharavathy/ Sharavathi is the river that flows from the Western Ghats towards Gerusoppa and ends up meeting the ocean at Honnavar. The river is dammed at two places and these reservoirs are called Linganamakki and Talakalale reservoirs. This area is a great spot for short and long treks, nature and scenic beauty, serene calming atmosphere and the wildlife. The highlights in this area are amphibians and reptiles of which most of them are endemic to the area. The famous Jog falls lies close by feeding the reservoir with water. This area is known for its community based sustainability and conservation efforts.
